Calculator
Your wall.
Pitch = distance from crowd
Pixel pitch is the distance between the center of one LED and the next, in millimeters. Smaller pitch = sharper image, higher cost, closer viewing distance required. Pick the biggest pitch you can get away with — a 3.9mm wall at 30ft looks identical to a 1.9mm wall at 30ft and rents for a third of the price.
Native resolution ≠ content resolution
The wall outputs its native pixel grid. Your content should be authored at or above that resolution and scaled down — never up. For broadcast/camera work, author at 4K minimum and frame-slice with disguise or a media server.
Panel × processor × power × crew
Bare panel rental is about half the total. Processing (Brompton SX40, NovaStar MX40), cable, riggers, content operator, and distro are the other half. A 20ft×10ft wall is a two-engineer day: one on processing, one on rigging and panel health.
